About Alex

I have had a varied career and have been working in education for 3 years, I started my work in procurement services at the world’s largest contract caterer, teaching me a wide variety of business skills and problem solving techniques. In 2019 I left the industry due to personal circumstances and spent a few years studying various interests. In 2022 I studied for and passed my CELTA, immediately starting work in an Oxford language school I worked for three years with teenagers doing 1-4 week courses or independent adults doing several months of intensive English with exams, I am now enjoying teaching online, based in the south of England. 

My aim as an independent teacher of English is to support and grow your ability to communicate and understand English in the modern world. As a foreign language learner myself I understand the real difficulties of confidence when trying to speak another language. I believe that one on one conversations will help you become a more confident and happy learner, leading you to conquer the technical challenges easily with internal motivation.

I offer exclusive private one to one lessons, you will have my full time, energy and attention and as we get to know each other we will develop a relationship based on shared interests and appreciation for learning. There is nothing better than human to human interaction when it comes to language learning I promise you, I will commit to your learning with you and bring out the best I can in you.

I studied French and German at Manchester university, then worked in business for 10 years before studying for my CELTA in Oxford, I have been teaching in Oxford for two years face to face and now look forward to working internationally online. I am enthusiastic about meeting new people, exchanging cultural ideas and learning about the world, as English is the most spoken language in the world (1.5 billion speakers) I’m sure we can find lots to talk about and explore together.
